RIP

Today we finally made the move to send my dog Lucky - the love of my life, to a better place. It was a very difficult decision to make. .. I am VERY thankful that Lacey was there to help me through it. I am positive she went home with tear stains covered in her shoulder!! She was a huge help. Also.. ofcourse.. my dearest Elizabeth.. lol.. she is like my rock these days.. Since she just recently went through the same thing with her dog, she really helped keep me on track ( as usual) and just doing what was right for her..!

Having Lucky put down today made me even more determined to find a show name for shiloh that relates to him helping me get through such a rough time... He definetly does not even realize that he couldn't have came in my life at a better time.... SO PLEASE get your thinking caps on! There is already a post under general discussions..

Since Lucky and Shiloh mean so mcuh to me, I felt as if it was only fair to take lucky down today to meet shiloh before we brought her to the vet. It was amazing how gentle shiloh was with her.. Lucky has never been that close to a horse before and she wasn't scared she was so relaxed.. there was one point that me, mom and nan all got cold shivers the exact same time.. Shiloh and Lucky sniffed each others noses the exact same time, almost as if to agree that they were both okay with their duties from here on end..... okay.. crying here.. lol.. im such a softy... anyways.. here are a couple pictures from Lucky meeting Shiloh today!!

Again, I am so happy that I was able to be there for you at this very difficult time. Euthanasia can be a very scary thing, and I'm sure having a friend there to reassure you and just be there for you means a lot. And yes, there was a little tear staining on my shirt, but thats what friends are for.

You have so many lovely pictures of Lucky to remember her by, and so many precious memories. She seemed like one sweet girl who loved you and trusted you so much. And now she's with the other lovely pets, where there's very large fire hydrants and mountains of their favorite treats. Where their is no pain, no blindness, they can hear, and smell and run just like puppies!
I'm sure we'll meet with them when it's our turn, and they'll run and lick our faces and have their tails wagging - just as we remembered them!

Ook so that made me tear up a wee bit. We had to get my old girl put down last year and it's the hardest thing. Your pony will keep you strong and be there for a good cuddle when you need it. Hope your feeling better soon, in the end you'll remember the good times and that you did what was best for her!

I'm so sorry to hear about Lucky. I'm sure Shiloh will do his best to help get you through this tough time. No animal could ever replace one that special, but in time others will help heal the pain. He will always have a special place in your heart, and will never be forgotten by those he touched.

Aww, Heather! You poor snot! I'm happy I could be as much help as possible from here in Ottawa! You did the right thing though.. I'm going to miss Lucky lots too.

But she can rest easy now, that little monkey, and so can you! Love you lots my lady.
