you have a cute pony : ) one thing though, there is no such thing as 14.5, a hand is equal to 4 inches so it goes 14, 14.1, 14.2, 14.3, 15. so you if you are saying he is between 14.3-14.5 than i think you mean 14.3-15.1

He acted up a few time which almost led to me being in trees so I decided to take him of his feed for a while to see how that works out .He has wayyyyy to much energy and yeah that pretty much it I know not very intersting lol

March 20 2010
Well we never went for a ride today, but I did do some basic ground work and worked on Bowing which I have to say he's doing amazing with it he's getting better and better every time! and after all that I gave him the best grooming ever spent a whole 45 min or so on him and made him fall asleep : ) I also decided to take him off feed the other day other then his BOSS because of all hid energy and his crazyness which I think is already helping cuse he's not so figity(spl?) in the cross ties anymore and he seems to be alot clamer to.

randon question - why are you working on bowing when there are other importent ground exercises and undersaddle exercises that should be done with a young horse first? i don't mean anything by this cause it's awesome that he's doing so well with it, I'm just wondering why you decided this was important enough to do rather than other things to benefit him undersaddle? hope this makes sense and didn't make me sound like a b!tch haha

It does make sense what your say but the weather hasnt been good ether to windy or raining and I dont like riding when no one is on proberty just in case kinda thing( I already had my share of near death expernices ) and the fact that there is only a round pen right now , and just to say I have been working on ground work with him as I said above and im also "despooking" him its just been to windy the last little while .

He sounds like he's doing great I just want empahsize how imprtant ground work and repsect are before games and tricks. Poet was only broke to a saddle and clicker trained. Is he pushy? Very. Will it take a ton of effort and time to get his repsect? For sure! If he had been handled properly in his past 7 years, I'd have myself a nice little horse. And riding him is a huge challenge, again because he was never taught manners. I'm not trying to be rude or pushy, just trying to make the whole horse owning/training thing much more worth while and fun in the long run. Good luck, I wish you all the best with him

Agreeeed ^ Its even worse. I can;t belive how far ernie came, and hes only been training for saddle for less then a yearr, and hes greatt. I actally didn't think he'd learn this fast, he was so good first time he was riden.

March.28,2010 Well we had a very eventfull day of riding today lol and it help alot with some things Ernie needed to work on !So I went up to the barn this morning put Ernie on the cross ties while I did some barn work and he stood nice a pretty wasnt moving around a hole lot like he used to , then I gave him a nice good grooming cuse he's starting to shed a nice bit now . He's doing really good with his feet he hasnt leand on the in forever he used to be very hestint picking them up but would and he used to bob his hinds when you picked them up but notthing now just stands there and waits ! then we tacked up him and Precious and went out on the trails... this is where the fun starts ! when we were on are way back kelley looked back at me to say something and while she was talking Precious decided to move closer to the side of the trail where a branch was sticking out she got closelind while precious keeped on movie so when kelley fell off Precious took of we didint know if she was going to go out on the road back to the barn or the trail so I had to go after her on one part on the trail I had to get off cuse it was a hill and icey and ernie was in the mood to GO GO GO to catch mommy but I was really suprised when I went to get on he just stood there and waited didnt even take one step as he usually walks away!!And he listend really good when I asked him to pick up speed or to slow down but all in all ounce I got back up to the barn precious was standing in her stall looking out at me little bugger had us all worried! Then we went for another little trail and after that I did a bit of de spooking which went really well! and we worked on leaded , standing , tacking ( he some times shys away a little with the saddle/saddle pad) and then gave him another nice grooming . Since I have teaken him off his feed he has been improving alot with his patince ,standing still and not tossing his head ! He's doing great !
