I won't go into detail but I stopped in and visited Josh today. Hes getting excellent care, there are 2 veterinarians and a 4th year student on his case. Hes still having some issues but they've essentially ruled out colic and the signs hes showing now do all match up with a neuro problem caused by vit. E/selenium deficiency. They're supplementing him appropriately, and he is showing some good improvements. He was munching on hay when I stopped by, and seemed altogether rather content. Just another reminder of how deficient our soil is; something to keep in mind!

Great to hear that he's doing well. He's in the right spot - that's for sure. You can't beat the care at the school.

Hey guys we are in NS for mow at our friends house. She only has dial up so I had to go to my friends house to get good internet! so sorry for the suspence. Jessica, I thought you might have been at AVC but I wasn't sure if you were still or not! The vets are just waiting on the results that should be back by friday. depending on how the results are we might be heading home the weekend. After they took blood they started him on the Vit. E just to prevent further damage, he has been responding nicely to the Vitimins. they said he settled in really nice and his energy is coming back after the stress of the travel. If this is what it is he may never be able to be a real riding horse again due to the muscule damage but for the amount of time I ride him anyways thats not going to change anything.
Today we went to Bits n Bridles and I bought him a new halter and lead rope as a get well soon gift to where in the trailer on the way home! I can't wait to see my baby again! I will try and update again when we get the bloodwork results back!
