Today was vertical flexion and speed day! I took her out and she is back on track at a walk with the flexion (gives right away with barely any pressure at all!) however, flexion at a trot is getting there, but still needs lots of work ! I trotted her around he field just doing flexion and figure eights, circles , etc...until she was giving to a satisfactory point. Then I went on to flexion and a lope and it was fantastic! She started collecting and the lope was sooo smoothh and sloww ! I loved it , as did she ! She was better one way than the other...but nothing major! After flexion, I did some side passing/leg yielding and she did quite well ! Still needs loads of work, but atleast she knows what I'm asking for! I went back to more trotting and loping after she had a little walking break and her trot became a nice jog that I could sit too and she was giving quite nicely. I tried speed changes at a lope (to a very slack level..), and she did farely well! She tends to not understand how to slow down quickly and collect, but she'll get there!

Finallyy...EASTER HOLIDAYS! which means pony bootcampp before my tripp too NYC and before school begins again! Today, I really wanted work on her vertical flexion at a trot. It took about 5 minutes to get her giving and trotting at a good, consistent pace. I did that in both directions and she improved greatly! Then I went onto loping and going in a circle to the right was a breeze! She was giving and keeping her collection...then came the left. She was so dificult! She didn't want to lope or give and she kept throwing her head up. However, I kept at her until she finally got the message she either had to do what I wanted or run around for hours. She finally gave and collected and so I finished off with some more trotting and vertical flexion after that. To cool down I did some leg yeilding and she is getting so much better! I barely have to use any rein at all! Then I just cooled her out with a nice trail ridee

Brandi was a royal butt head today. There's bad weather coming according to my mom so of course that added to her shitty mood. She was fanastic at firstt, giving at walk and then I worked a lot on trot and she improved so very much! Nice slow pace and giving as soon as I asked. Then came loping..that's where everything went down hill. She wouldn't keep up her lope and she didn't want to hold her giving. But I kept at her until she did it alright and then i switched to the other side, and she kept her lope, but wouldn't give. It took a good 10-20 minutes of loping til she gave consistently twice (I stopped cause we were both fustrated..)
She was really sweaty so I gave her a half hour cool down (an easy trail ride to calm us both down).

First ride since my trip from NYC and she was wodeful! MInd you, I did nothing training wise that was intense...just something to get her sillies out and to kinda bond, haha. So, I went to get her and I brought along Nina(my smaller dog that she was never fond of) and both Brandi and NIna were wonderful <3 Brandi normally snorts and can't keep her eyes off Nina, but she was relaxed and calm with having her around! Nina also kept a good distance away, and just laid down when I was tacking up and grooming her (so happy) ! Then me and Brandi went for a ride! I took her to the feild and asked for a lope, which she did, but on the wrong lead. So I asked for it again and she went on the correct one...however we had a bit of a fight to get her to turn, but then she realized no matter what she has to do what I want, and gave in. She was wonderful! Her head was down (even though I wasn't asking!), she had a nice, slow speed, and after the fight her steering was doing pretty good! She was way better steering the other way as she knew not to fuss. After running, I just walked her out on a trail and got her used to new things an stuff and she did really well, and her head stayed lowered! When I untacked her, I put her back and got feed bags (she hates them..) and did some desensitizing. She did really well. She let me catch her with them in my hand and she didn't shy away at all when I shook them and flicked them over her. All in all, great first ride Tomorrow, hard core training to prepare for the clinic!

Did lots of vertica flexion today because miss butthead decided to be stubborn and stupid. I had to basically start from scratch with it and just kept at it. While we were on our trail she was afraid of some piles of garbage so I got that all situated (she's still timid but she can stand by it no prob) and then continued. We got to the main road, and she freaked. She hates going on a certain part of the main road and I have no idea why! So, i got off and walked her to the other trail, and she still was hesitiate. For being such a butthead (she's not afraid of traffic, I can go in the other direction on the main road no problem!) , she got workedd! Trotting and vertical flexion, until she was decent. Which took about 20 minutes! Once she was listening and keeping a steady pace while giving. Then we walked for a bit more, turned around and headed home. When we came to the river, I wanted to see if she would cross. She acted up, but when I gave her rein and just let her go in, she was pretty good! She didn't cross, but she walked in it (along it type thing) no problem! By the end of our ride she was giving good again and was very calm and serene

Everyone has off days so don't worry about it! Both rider and horse will be off eventually sometime in the riding career! But she did come around in the end which is important ! And I will have to make sure to pop up to see you two !

Today went sooooo much better! Her vertical flexion is back to what is was (very little pressure and she gives) at a walk, and has improved so much from what it was at a trot! Very little pressure (more than what i use at a walk, but still) and she gives! I haven't done much at a lope because I've been working more on getting her on the correct lead which has been so hard to do lately! Anyway, we did lots of trotting today! I wanted her to start building muscle and also, I tend to not pay attention to trotting part cause it's so tiring on me, haha. We went around the field twisting and turning and me asking for her to give. She was quite hard at first, but as time went on improved and improved! For a break in what we were doing I went to loping and we spent a good 20 minutes on it. She decided she was going to not know what lead to go on, but after a whole bunch of time passed she realized what I wanted and because it took so long I stopped when she finally got it and kept it for a few rounds! She was perfect on the the other lead Also, due to the fuss I didn't do vertical flexion, but I noticed by herself she kept her head lower and her pace is so much slower now ! wooot! After that I just went aroun port au port, trotting and loping a bit, mostly trotting though! It was fun! She shyed away from a garbage pile of old furiture so I kept her going around it and sniffing it until I could trot by it no problem. Then we came to an old tent out by the road (garbage), and it took about five munites before she was ok with that (I got her to walk over it!) before I could move on. After everything, she was foaming by the end, so she definatly got a workout! Sorry for the novel, but so much happened ;$ haha

wonderful ride today! She barely spooked (she did twie at arbage and once at a bird, haha). She was giving very well as well. Immediatly at a walk, and with just a faintamount of pressure at a trot..we trotted most of the hour because I'm building her muscle and it's something we need to work on. Then I did some loping and it only took about five tries until she got on the correct lead, and going the opposite direction she got it first try! so happy with her todayy <33
