When I came back to NL for school I left Connor at FEC. When I had time (which wasn't often), I flew back to train. I went up for a Cindy clinic and a show the weekend after, and one of the lady's got a few pics at the farm. At the moment I'm stuck on Fogo and my buddy is stranded with the other ambulance in Gander, so I have a lot of time on my hands haha Hope you enjoy It was my first time riding in over 3 months, so it's not my best riding, but I had a great time! Also, excuse the brown dressage saddle, I'm in the market for a new one, as his body has changed so much. Warming up My favourite picture, I just wish my head wasn't cut off. I'm hoping my boyfriend can sketch this picture for my birthday, and just fill in the top of my head lol

Connor looks the best he's ever looked. It's great you have these opportunities! Good luck with it all

Connor looks like a completely different horse. Both you and him have come a very long way. You look great together.

Thank you very much girls! We've both worked hard and he's in a much better mindset in his training, I'm very proud. Last time I was up, a few weeks ago, Jane Fraser was almost in tears watching us together. She's taken him under her wing, and I couldn't ask for a better coach and rider while I'm not there. He's starting to trust more and relax. The reason he reared and "freaked out" before was because of his sensitivity. Jane even said at one point she was riding and he spooked (which is unusual), and she touched his mouth and he went straight up as a reaction. It's really interesting to see and understand. I'm lucky I have FEC. It hasn't been an easy road for either of us but I'm so glad I stuck with him and I have a fantastic horse now, I couldn't be happier. It just makes the victory that much sweeter at the end, knowing where he came from and where he is now. Thanks again for your nice comments, it means a lot to me

I'm not sure at the moment Tammy, I'd really like to since I was in school last summer and unable to compete. It depends on if I've moved up to NS by that time and settled with a job. I'm still only riding whenever I fly up, so no consistency unfortunately. To be honest this is the first time I haven't worried about competing though. I can honestly say I wouldn't be disappointed if I didn't show this year, I'm just enjoying figuring out my "new" horse and working on relaxing myself in the saddle. On another note though, Jane is talking about taking him off property more this summer to get us both used to it, it's mostly just me getting nervous haha So we'll see how it goes. Who knows, maybe we'll bypass the Nationals and work on just becoming champs in the schooling shows Also, the shows in NS are way different then the ones here in NL, so I have to get used to that as well. Bottom line is we'll just have to see where I am at that time!

Maria, I hope you do consider the CEC's. NL would be lucky to have you on their team

Thank you! They are fantastic! Yeah, he has little quirks like his sire Czark. His half sister at the barn, Brezee has the same look and personality, and Jane's old horse (another half sibling) Kenny, had the same temperament. All the "Czark babies" do a little grunt in the canter, they noticed it when Connor first got there and I heard it with the other 2 horses haha It's really nice to have him in that atmosphere.

Neat! I think I did hear that a while ago. Here's a video I've been working on! Sorry it's so long, some of the clips are the same after the first couple minutes. This is my first jumping lesson at FEC, plus a few dressage clips from one of my lesson around the same time. Connor had only been there 2 months when the video was taken, sorry the jumps aren't more exciting, it's pretty obvious that jumping isn't our forte, but it was still a super fun lesson! www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLo5E61VkQI&list=UUKwPwbWL9UeBnedseKhkklg&index=1
