Went to settle the horses in for the night and noticed Marco was acting strange. At first I thought he was just fooling around but then I realized he was actually having trouble walking. He was lifting his front legs too high and then banging them down (almost as if he thought the floor was farther away) and stagering about and leaning against the walls. A minute later he fell over over onto his side. It took me a few minutes pulling on his halter and telling him to stand to get him back on his feet. His eyes were glazed and he appeared to be chewing but there was nothing in his mouth. Anyone have any idea what could have caused this? Just checked on him again and he seems much better (eating his hay but not much energy)

I would call a vet immediately if you haven't already.

Call the vet. Now. Yesterday. That's not normal. Storm or not, that's emerg to me and he needs to be seen regardless of whether he's okay now.

That doesn't sound good at all. Hope you were able to get a vet out despite the storm.

Marco seems to be doing fine. I have spoken to the vet and she agrees that it appears to have been a seizure. She told me a keep an eye on him and begin recording any more seizures or strange behavior. There's really nothing they can do has the seizure could have been caused by anything from something he ate to a chemical imbalance.
