We need more Junior and Senior Western competitors! Any one out there want to give it a try? Late fees are being waived for anyone entering until July 30th

If day stalls were offered I would have gone in this show I wanted to go in english and western however I was not holding onto my horse for 13 or so classes. This might be something you should think about if you are going to hold two disciplines on the same day at the same barn. At least offer day stalls if you don't want to get into offering over nights.

^If i had a horse, i would of went, and got my mom to get me lunch etc.. hahah. And my sister would of loved to hold onto him/her for me. xD
What about having some where to tie them on or put them out some where, it would be greattt.! : ) Like charge 20 bucks to put them out or tie them on if people want to.

Kaitlyn, there was a $5 fee to tie your horse in the arena. Still doesn't solve any problems. You have to stay with them if they are tied on.

I would of been there but I dont like trailering out right before a show..would rather be there for a night or two. Until there are stalls offered, I can't show, and I know a good few others in the same boat.

Guys most people don't have stalls for shows... ever. I know I don't get them. Bring a friend and take turns holding your horse. Skipping a show because you don't have a stall is kind of foolish

That is not really my point I understand that away people don't have stalls but from my understanding away don't offer more then one discipline either if there's an english show then it is just english and the same with western. I feel that there is not enough people showing here to do those kinds of shows. I though we were trying to promote showing here. Also there a few years ago we it was "cruel" to have your horse in more then I believe it was 6 classes per day but yet having one hold on to their horse for 13 classes is better?? I don't think it is. Prime example of this is the post that pony placed saying that they needed more western jr and sr riders well those who ride english that might have tried western (in my mind) are not going to wait around holding their horse for that amount of time. I have been talking with a lot of people on this and most of them agree that at least a day stall could have been offered.

The same goes for the NADA show the next day. Some people feel it was being "boycotted" when in reality, no one wants to trailer their horse two days in a row, and hold on to it for umpteen hours for 2 days.

Id love to compete, and wouldn't mind holding on to my horse for a couple of hours. But, it kind of sucks when you don't have a trailer, and can't even take a break to have a snack or let your horse relax for a bit. But if someone trailers you there and drops you off, and can't get back till the next morning? Then what. The two people I asked about trailering were competing themselves and couldn't come back to get me the same day.

SR has a valid point, i know for one when i showed boone 2 years ago i wouldn't have even thought about going in the western classes (even if it was just for a laugh) if there wasn't stalls offered they were long, long days.. and majority of the people here don't have there own trailer so paying for one for 2-3 days in a row can get pricey, and i can see it being rediculously tireing for the person that's offereing the trailering! horse i'm riding now well, is not the best to trailer to say the least it's no secret unless the shows at my home barn, or i'm able to get out the night before i doubt i'll be able to go to any away shows

Yeah, I wouldn't mind holding on to my horse and I'd take my friend who is in-love with horses and she hasn't been near one. she'd love to stand there and hold my horse for me. xD Not that i would make her do it but if i needed a break I'm 95% sure she'd love to hold him for me! And eating for me is no problem i only need one hand and if i need two hands to eat I'll get a friend to hold him, its not like i don't enjoy a meal with my Best buddy. PLUS, if i ever so do to a show I'd be bringing a truck full of grass/hay for the horse I'm not making him work with out eating! xD . And maybe they should have the horse stay on some type of fenced in grass for the night as long as theres other horses with him one night on a Field he should be fine.
