I rode dommers outside today, and he was really good!
I hadn't ridden him in at least a week before today... so I was expecting him to be a speed demon, but he wasn't! With exams and my trip to BC coming up, I am trying to spend tons of time with my boy before I leave him for almost 3 weeks!
Today, I rode Domino on a 20m circle, in the middle of the pen around a couple of standards. I am riding him off the wall more now because he seems to depend on the fence/wall for balance, and he needs to learn to balance himself. At the walk and jog I worked on collection, and I did this exercise that asks dom to flex his head to the outside, while staying on a circle. He was a bit stiffer when I asked him to flex to the outside on the right rein, but at the end of my ride he got softer. At the lope I just worked on steering on a circle, because I find sometimes he sticks his head to the inside, shoulder to the outside and drifts. So I had to work on straightening him up.
Tomorrow I am riding again, will post later!
