So, I'm going to start one of these for Montana, seemings I've got a clear signal to work with him anytime I want to. (thanks bev haha) So, I'm pretty sure he hasn't had any work done with him, at all. He's got a halter on him, but the way it got put on him, wasn't the greatest. I'm going up there today, to work with leading and picking up his hooves and maybe some lunging, maybe. I'm so looking forward to working with this boy. I'll keep you updated.

Today, aka, Day one. Wow. That's pretty much all. He needs SO much work. He's herd bound like a mofo. He HATES leaving the pack, even if Sundance is leaving too. It took me a good 30-45 minutes to get him from the pasture to the barn on a lead rope. He would not move, and when he did he'd try and run. Oh silly playful colt.
So, when I finally did get him up there, I tied him to the pole, he wasn't too sure about that, but he didn't make a BIG fuss over it. So, I started petting him, getting used to someone handling him and being able to touch him and stuff. I can touch him from neck to bum and down his front legs. But his back legs are a no-no. But I ended on a good note anyways.
When leading him back to the pasture, he was better than on the way to the barn. The only this is that he likes to lean his head on me when we were walking. So I switched and lead him from the right side, and he was perfect.
He's really quite the handful, I must say. And I thought DREAM was nuts. HA! She's a joke compared to this guy. But I love challenges. So, this should be fun. But ow, my hand.

hahahaha I took that pic. Sundance was standing there looking at me, then when I got the camera out, he walked away on lunge line(Lacey was using my lead line) lol. Camera shy? I think so. I don't know why. he's so beautiful. he just doesn't know it. I hope it doesn't rain again today Lacey!!

[glow=red,2,300]Update!![/glow] Training day two, in one word, AMAZING. The only thing we had a problem with was leaving the herd again. But, it's no fun if you concentrate on the one and only bad thing. He tied perfectly to the pole and stood like a good boy. I broke out the curry comb and started in. He let me curry him all over from neck to belly to bum. Then I brushed him all over and even down ALL four of his legs. He even picked up all four of his feet for me. What a boy!! And I dewormed him, his first time ever, and he was perfect. Yum. We took them into the ring and walked around. Working on halting and walking again when told and we worked with voice commands as well. He did it perfectly. And when we walked back he walked like a perfect pony. No tugging or backing or rushing. Just perfectly by my side, even with attitude! Haha. Anywho, Today was quite the success!! Ohh! I also found out his breed. His dam's parents were a reg.Clydesdale and a reg.Standardbred. And his sire is a reg.Quarter Horse. Montana = Clydesdale X Standardbred X Quarter Horse! booya. picturess! ^me whispering all my secrets to him. check out that ASS! he's got a josie ring.
