As for the trail ride, I am going! I'm going to take him over to the other field tomorrow I think, or whenever someone else can come with me just incase something happens on our first trip.

Our lesson was good today. We did w/t/c and some crossrails.
Our walk and trot was excellent but our canter was off thanks to me. I was nervous cantering 20m circles and large with poles and standards on the ground and ended up tensing up. Therefore Rocky decided he was going to run into the poles(which I was looking at trying to avoid them. Not a good idea, I know) Then when we went large he bolted when I asked for him to canter twice but the second time I did a circle first and collected him, got him focused and asked again, relaxed and we had the perfect transition. After that, our canter work was done. I was very proud of him and myself (for learning to actually trust my babe).

Tonight, my parents friends came over and brought their little girl and she was in love with the pictures of Rocky so I HAD to bring her over to see him. She loved him to pieces. He was being sooo good for her too. I guess he knows when he's allowed to be a baby and when he's not. What a good boy.

Krys you guys did great today, the main thing is that you learned lots.
I feel bad for deleting ANY pictures off Mia's camera, but like I said, I asked her if I could, she said yes and they were only ones of like, his butt and awkward looking ones and that was only because Sarah wanted picture of her last ride on Duke before she went back to Qatar. So, don't think I did it out of malice. Sorry for snapping, but I felt a little defensive! Especially after a camp kid said "ARE YOU THE MEL WHO DELETED PICTURES?", I was like whaaaaaaaaaaaaat.

Mel, wow. I didn't know the camp kids knew about it.

It's cool. I just wanted to make sure you had your reasoning behind it. And from what I had heard it was more than a couple, and that's why I was upset. As long as you got great ones of Sarah and Duke, it's okay.

Okay so I went to the barn early to give Julie her drawing for her birthday and then as I was going to see pony, Ange came out and told me that I was riding Bueno in my lesson and not Rocky so I was pretty sad. I only had an hour before my lesson, so I grabbed Rocky and brushed him off really quick and then we lunged. As soon as he got into a nice walk on his big circle, he took off like a crazy and gave me rope burn. That's what I get for not wearing gloves I guess. Either way, we ended up having a decent work out in the time we had and got all our excitement out.

I really wish I had had a chance to ride him my last day before I leave. I felt so bad but I really didn't have time to tack up and then untack before my lesson .

Aunty Jess is going to take care of my boy while I'm gone. They'll be working on canter transitions, canter 20m circles and canter poles! But we can't forget the balance in walk and trot and bends.

Jess, post how Rocky and you do in your rides so I can read about it when I get back!

Mel, yeah but at the same time she convinced me not to say anything by telling me that we were doing a lot of canter work with flyings and a jump course of around 2 feet, there was no way I was passing up that chance!

I hope so, I'm going to miss my boy so much:(
