Aww, thanks Kelly! But no way, I love my babe way too much. BUT! I'm sure he'd love to wish you a happy birthday and give you some birthday cuddles though!
Today I rode in the mist/fog. It was good minus having to ride mostly in the other ring. In the other ring we worked on transitions. Lots and lots of transitions. It's coming along nicely though. Which is good. We even started turn on the forehand! He's such a good boy! Once we got into the big arena, we trotting around for a bit, keeping our straightness and then went over a small crossrail a few times. He did such a good job.

So today I left the show right before the hacks started. I wanted to stay but I have to work later and I had to get over to see my pony! He was amazing once again! Every ride is now a new surprise! I lunged him before I got on for about 10 minutes. Once I got on, he was amazing. We did lots of circles and he did them perfect, no shoulder popping! Then we decided to do some canter work and it was awesome! He stayed right on the track and cantered all the way around the arena and didn't even try to go into the standards that were set up! I was so proud of him. He missed his lead a couple of times but that's nothing really, just some more work. After that we went over a crossrail a few times and then cooled out. Tomorrow, if I can get out before work, we'll work on canter transitions upward and downward.
And thanks Mel! I think so too! He loves the lick-it thing I bought him!

So Rocky and I have been working on canter work all week. He's doing SO much better. No more fast-rushing-uncontrolable cantering! It's great! He's really finding his feet now too. Some good boy! I didn't ride today because of this lame weather but maybe I'll have my lesson tomorrow if I don't have to work. If not, I'll just wait until next week. Rocky got to be loose today. He loved it. Well, at first he was tied out infront of the house to eat the grass but he broke off and went to see Sunny. Then Bueno chased him around the ponds. After that he just grazed around eating all the yummy green grass and picking at the hay bale. He needs to start getting fat! haha.
Anywho, I must be off. But I have to say, I'm some proud of my boy. He's coming along very nicely, if I do say so myself!

Last night I had a private lesson! The two other girls couldn't make it. It was pretty much the best thing ever. I loved it. Rocky and I worked on our canter 20 meter circles. Ange was going to put us on the lunge line at first but then once she saw how good we've gotten she said there was no need. Ange was very impressed with Rocky and I. We're started some basic dressage tests soon! Should be awesome. I'm so proud of my boy.

I'm riding tomorrow for sure. It's probably going to be disgusting out but if you really want to take some pictures, go for it:P Yesterday I had to work at the barn until 12 and then work at Berg's at 2 so I didn't really have time to ride. Instead I lunged for a bit and decided I'll just free lunge him for the rest of the time. After a little bit, seeing how there were standards there, I decided to set up a little jump against the fence and see if he'll go over it. The first couple of tries didn't go so well so we changed the direction and all I could say was WOW! He cantered calmly to the jump, which was only like half a foot high, and jumped about 3 foot over it. He flew! I was so amazed. I would have never thought he would have jumped so high over such a small jump. After that, we just cooled out and I hosed him off, cleaned up his cuts (he fell into the pond the other day) and gave him some treats and put him back in with Sonny. All in all, it was a great day.

So, I rode today but sadly didn't get any pictures. It wasn't the best day for that, though they would have been funny. Rocky was doing good, we were going lots of bending and flexion. After about 40 minutes I put him over a crossrail a couple of times and then decided to go for a little canter. To say the least, Rocky said no way mom and bucked. At first I thought he may have been sore so I went sitting trot to see if I could feel anything and then Ange came out and had a look. Needless to say, he was just being a baby for once. So everytime I asked him to canter and put my leg back he'd buck and then I'd push him foward and ask again and he'd buck. This went on a couple of times before he actually cantered and then it even went into the corners when we were trotting. I just kept asking for that canter and after a little while he realized that no matter what he does, he's not allowed to act up like that. Finally we got a beautiful trot-canter transition and he was finished.
