I went to HRR for a lesson today and they had three new horses!!! ;D It's so awesome!!! I knew they were expecting one and they ended up getting three! Domino is one of them! He's so cute! His tails kind of odd since he pretty much doesn't have one but hes sooo quiet and friendly! They also got a new pony named Eastwood. He's a dark bay around the size of Strider. I say I'll be riding him eventually! I just hope they let his mane grow out. Whoever had him before cut it all off The third horse is a chesnut gelding named Red. He's supposed to be old but he's super hyper and races around nonstop! One of the other girls who takes lessons there owns him. Princ e was also sold! He's at some big farm in Nova Scotia now. Going to be used for jumping I think. I'm going to the barn again tomorrow and I'm going to try and get some pics!

Aww, Domino, so that's where the old guy is gone to? Hahah, you don't want to ride him in the summer when the blackflies are plentiful, because he has no tail. I remember when I used to ride him the poor bugger couldn't stand still for two minutes during the summer without being eaten alive. We ended up making a fake tail for him out of hair from other horses tails and bailing twine.

That's like Sundance's dam. She's an appy and she has a very short tail :S I always wondered why haha. Congrats to the barn for the new additions!

Andrea- the tail (or lack thereof) is just a random breed breed trait of the appaloosa. Thin manes and tails are just how appaloosas come

Wow. Must be the cross in him that gives him such a gorgeous mane!! I've never seen an App with much of a mane at all!

That second pic of Twister is at the barn in Reidville!!!
Willow is an appaloosa cross and she's got a really nice mane and tail. There's a place out here that breeds appaloosas and they've almost all got nice manes and tails.

Maverick didn't/doesn't have much of a mane or a tail, though I don't remember him ever being quite so bad for it as Domino is.
