On behalf of Dennis Mahoney I am posting this note for him.
Dennis currently resides in PEI and is the manager of largest H/J facility on the east coast. He is moving to Cornerbrook NL at the end of March. As well as he is actively involved in coaching and has taken students to the Royal Winter Fair with much success.
Dennis is prepared to come to the St.John's area twice a month to teach lessons.
The weekend of April 12, Dennis will be here in St.John's and is currently organizing a small clinic/meet and greet for those looking for a coach. Dennis will travel to each facility this weekend for any people wishing to have a lesson with him.
Prices will be out soon but they will be quite reasonable.
Please send me an email if you are seriously interested in having Dennis come to your barn for a trial lesson.

Hey Shannyn I am definatley interested, I am not sure if Red will be up for it, but if not I will definatley want to chat with him. Does he do horse training? I need a fearless trainer to get Red going good lol.
Also is he certified with EC? Just wondering about rider levels!

I don't think he is certified Em but will ask him next time I talk to him. Too bad as it sounds as though he has a wealth of info and experience behind him. Might be worth you talking to him about Red. I'll keep you updated. I've asked around and have spoken to Kevin Crosby about him and everyone has had nothing but great things to say about him. Good sign for sure.

Heh everyone. He is a H/J rider/trainer/coach. I would think that he would definitely be available in teaching on the west coast as well. He is going to be a freelance coach so he will be travelling around the province teaching where he is wanted. I am going to double check with him that it is OK to give out his email address. I will post it here then.

I think it is always great when new coaches come to the island. My only advice before working with new coaches would be to find out from other equine professionals and students how they are thought of in the horse community at large, as well as how they treat the animals they deal with every day. Also, what their certifications are within the EC community.

I absolutely agree. I have done my own research contacting numerous people such as professionals like Kevin Crosby in Nova Scotia about Dennis. Nothing but praise coming from him and all the others. Having said that, it is always the responsiblity of the the person hiring a coach whether it be for riding or any other other sport to ensure that you are compatible with the coach and you work well together and their techniques are on par with yours.
Dennis has given me the OK to give out his contact info. Please feel free to contact him directly to answer any other questions you may have.
