In the western divisions (and english, I just don't know how they work), can you go in so many classes say in Amature, and then other classes in Novice? Or go from Open to Amature?

No, I don't believe you can go from higher to lower in one show.
Maybe with a different horse you could..?? But I doubt it!! My horse is NOT an experienced jumper, but because Susan is jumping him, they'll have to go in Open.

I can see the horse going from higher to lower, but I would think that if you can compete in say Amature, then you would have to stay in amature. Not just go to Novice because you don't think you'll win. That's hardly fair to the other competetors.

Iam pretty sure you can go in say Novice halter, and then Amateur or Open pleasure if you feel that's your forte. Chelsey or Erin can answer this one. But once you've shown at a higher level you can't go back to novice, no matter what horse you ride.

You can switch levels. But you have to go in all classes in that level...
Like, in this show, I went Open Showmanship and Halter. (one division) and I went Amateur reining, stock seat and freestyle. (one division)..
But like Cowboy said, you can't go back to amateur in that division if you went open. same as you can't go to novice if you've previously shown amateur...
