2007 NEA Point Earning Divisions & Classes!

I don't think anyone has posted this yet, so... Here she goes!

This is the point earning class list.
Not All classes will be held at Every show (Unless you're lucky)
but these are the classes you can look forward to, to get your points for the yearend awards or whatever!

Reminder, and correct me if I'm wrong!
That you Must show in the same class at least Twice throughout the show season to obtain your points!
The more shows you go to and enter that class, the higher you chances are of (improving and ) placing higer to get ahead in the division (or Win that divison at the end of the year!)


As for the Over Fences!
To compete in the Hunter OR Equitation Divisions, you MUST go Over Fences! Jump!
You can not Enter the Under saddle classes in Hunter or Eq. Unless you go Over Fences.
Again correct me if im wrong.
You must CLEAR the jumping round to go under saddle!
There are TWO over fences classes in Each Hunter division So you have a second chance incase you were disqulaifed the first time!
If you do Not clear ( complete the course correctly) the round of jumping Either of the two times, you Can not go in the under saddle.

If that is wrong, please Scratch it, but That's how its done elsewhere, two rounds, and looking at the sheet, thats how it looks!

Ahhh. I have some questions! ;D

Okay...

Is the equitation based on age or skill? Like, being 23 but haven't shown in 9 years and my horse is new to it all, where would I fit in there?
Also my horse is VERY new to jumping. Thats if I decide to jump at all

Or if I take him in the Walk/Trot to do the cross rails and I think he would be able to do the hopeful jumper, do I then have to stick with Novice the whole show?
Would I still be able to take him in Ametuer Hack or would I have to do novice hack?

Please forgive me if I sound stun Haven't done this in a while and my coach took care of all this back then

haha dont worry, thats what this forum is for!
Well if your horse is new to jumping, it depends on the "New"
How high have you put him over a jump, and was it a crossrail? or a vertical?
The Walk trot Division will most likley have alot of younger kids in it, their first time showing.

It depends on how Comfortable you are!
If you feel that by the time the first show gets here you and your horse can Easily get over a little course of 2 foot verticals, then youd go into the 2'(foot) classes.
If you dont feel like you up there yet, Defintly go in the walk trot!

But it is all based on your skill!
You could be a new rider at age 44 and wanting to show, then if theyre Really new, they'd defintly be in walk trot.

If you can get your horse to canter a while and jump a few jumps ( while looking at striding, your position, and how your horse jumps them ( does he knock them down? or refuse?)). The hunter classes could be good, the smaller jumps.

The Jr. Equtiation jumps are smaller are For Junoris ONLY, under 18.
The Amature Equatitation is at 3 foot, so thats a HUGE leap from jr. to amature. (pun intended )

The Hunter Division is for ANYONE or ANYAGE!!
No age limit!
You can take you horse in the 2 foot max or the "Avalon" hunter division!

If your not ready, Defintly go walk trot!
I'm sure there will be adults going in that at some point!
It might be good to ask a coach or someone oon the borad though..

Ashely, dont worry bout it! You can definatley show in novice or amateur, it's not to do with your age. And if your horse is green too, you can go in whateer division you want.
And if you go in the walk trot classes thats all you can show in, you can't go in anythin gthat requires canter work.
As far as I know, you can show novice in one division, say something your working on like jumping, but if he's at pleasure or hack's, then you can show amateur or open in those classes. But you can't show novice and amateur in one division.

Im showing Red in novice pleasure and horsemanship, because it'll behis first w/j/l show, and we have to show one handed this year, and we're going in novice trail and command, and amateur stock seat, freestyle, and reining!

Haven't decided on our english calsses, but defiantley the Avalon classes, and the hacks!

Me and Becks want to go ina few halter classes with Prince and Benny and be all like "STANDARDBREDS DO IT BETTER!" haha.

I wish I'd gotten Benny in time to start getitng him ready, oh well, there's always next year!!!

Ashley, my horse is very green too but I've showed before, so therefore I'll be showing Amateur. It's not so much as based on your horse as far as the hack classes go, but over fences you have a bit of a choice (as far as I can understand).

Like Maria said, the walk/trot is usually for the younger girls who are just in the first year showing, ORRRRR for the extremely green horses!! Whatever you think your horse is comfortable doing. But I don't think you're able to show walk/trot and then the other hunters as well.

ok so like you got alll those other classes now, like hunter-cabot, hunter-bonvista, etc, etc .. so do you go in alll those, or do you just pick a couple that you want to go in?

and like the jumper ones, do you just go in one of those?
