I've arranged for an Equine Nutritionist to come to Newfoundland in the next month or so. Her name is Pam Mackenzie and she is the area nutritionist for the Atlantic provinces. She is employed by Purina.
Purina will be renting a hall to hold a seminar dealing with all aspects of equine nutrition as well. I have dealt with Pam numerous times and can tell you, this woman knows her stuff.
I will also be organizing some barn tours as well for people who would like a personal evaluation by Pam on your horse's body condition as well as the feeding program you are currently using.
We would like to know the what the interest level would be for one on one consultations.
If you are interested, please let me know.
I will have the dates of her visit soon and will post them here at that time.

Any chance of getting her out to the west coast?! I met her at Can-am, and I know Maggie has been in touch with her numerous times. I know there would be atleast a half dozen or more people interested out this way. IMO, you can only rely so much on phone consultations. You need to be able to see the horse, palpate them to accurately judge their body condition score. I for one would LOVE to have an accessment, although I think my horse looks pretty darn good now!!!
Any idea on the cost for this?
Just dawned on me.. might be a good time to contact the head of the NEA Education Committee. An open lecture on equine nutrition would be great as far as educating those who don't know any better... ?!?! Especially on the west coast/central. Just a thought.

Pam is great! (I swear, she has two of the most beautiful Clydes in the world ). I'd definitely be up for any west coast possibilities.

I'd be very interested. The earlier the date can be confirmed, the better. Kayla's social schedule is quite heavy!
