Hey Deb, We are hoping to get an event in the works for the spring at King Ranch. I have had two seasons of no events and I can't stand it any more. Looks like we will have to take matters into our own hands. There is nothing carved in stone just yet, but we hope to get it going. What would make it really happen is knowing how many people are seriously interested? So if we can get a bunch of people to wave their arms in the air and demand an event, then there will be more incentive to run it. Donna Humber of Centaur would be heading it up, so it is ultimately up to her. But speaking as a passionate and slightly obsessive event rider, I think that this would something that a lot of people would really enjoy. So if you are interested raise your hand!

Well, both my hands are in the air, ha. But it might have to be before like, the middle of June, cuz I think I'll be gone back to PEI by then... But I'm DEFINITELY in... unless my pony sells before then, but even then, I'll rent somebody's horse... maybe Beau, I think Beau wants me to take him eventing... LoL I haven't even met him, but hey, that's ok... EVERYBODY, you must try eventing, it's just waaaaay too much fun.

Stephanie, it's an outdoor course. It has obsticles(sp) that could be found on a hack such as jumps (over logs), ditches, water, etc. That's just breif. haha
If Rocky is ready by then (which I doubt he will be) I'm in. But if not, I'll definatly help out!!

Eventing is a three phase show. Higher level shows take place over two or three days, but lower levels are usually just one day. First you do dressage, then Cross-country jumping (through fields and woods over fixed fences such as logs, water, other such fun things) and then Stadium (or Show Jumping). Although some shows will do the Stadium phase before the Cross-country phase, to make things go faster. There's a bunch of different levels, from green horses/riders where the dressage is just basic walk trot and jumps are only as high as 18", and goes all the way up to Olympic levels, with of course higher level tests and much bigger jumps... If you've never done it or are green or have a green horse, starting at a lower level is really not that hard at all, and tuns of fun.
