Star was always a bugger for stopping. He's pretty hard mouthed. Which is expected from his years of riding and cart pulling. You just got to put him in his place. : )
-This seemed off topic. Why not make a training log and keep us updated on the progress?

We did some walk/trot. Who knew that trotting in a straight line outside the ring was so hard?! Hahahaahahaha ... yeah. Good 'ole Star. I love that pony! ;D

Aly, If I were to attempt to ride Prancer in a CTR she'd be VERY sore afterwords. She's a standardbred, former racer. Go really really fast for a short distance, not take it easy, trot/canter, take it easy, etc over a long distance. Not saying a STB couldn't do it, just saying I can't see Prancer doing it. Plus her muscles are all really really tight and tense(we're working on it), she'd need to be relaxed for a long trek like that, She'll just never be a CTR pony. Maybe if I get Fury though .

That's too bad, she's not that old is she? Never know, she might loosen up eventually! When you think about it too, when you ride in an arena doing w/t/c you're covering a pretty long distance, even if you're only going around the ring. I guess not all horses are made for it though. Fury seems like a good pony to do the job!!

OK, I'm going to start a training log for Star, Kayla and I. It should prove to be entertaining to say the least ....

OK, spread the word - it's time to take action. I am going to start to compile a list of anyone who is interested in CTR or even recreational TR (to start with), and will then plan a meeting. We've got to start somewhere. So if you are interested please send me your name, address, contact info (ie: phone & e-mail), what area you live in and/or which barn you ride at. As well whether you're interested in only competitive TRs, only recreational ones or both.

Ooops - forgot to mention for everyone to spread the word around. People can send me their info via this site or to my e-mail.

Haha mell, I didn't think it was an overly bad haul up so I was nice & didn't use my caps. It's only like 2 months old anyways .. unlike some over year old ones I saw. I'm less bugged by them now anyways. This one was probably on the front page anyways. ;D P.S when are this ( or next ) year's CTRs? P.P.S I wish my mom held CTRs.

Sarah, we could probably pull one off out here for the west coast crowd...after all trail riding is what we do best, hahaha. It would be lots of fun, that's for sure.
BTW, now that I have a trailer, I'd love to even haul Willow out to the east coast for one.

Shelly, I think that is a very awesome idea. Haha, I love riding on the trails. I've only had a handful of lessons, but I live on the trails. I bet a lot of other people would be interested too. Like you said Trail Riding is what we west coasters do best !
