Here's the details on the clinicians. Not sure if both will be coming or not, might just be Michelle (my sister).
Michelle Smith, a current Level 1 Coach with Equine Canada, has 16 years experience in the horse industry. Her main focus is Eventing and Jumper. She has shown her Quarter Horse mare up to training level in Eventing and in the 4 foot jumpers in Nova Scotia. She spent a year with Jimmy Day in Ontario working with Thoroughbreds and exercising them at the track. She has trained with Susan Fraser (Level 3 Dressage coach) and Alex Beaton (Level 1). She has also attended Eventing clinics with Rob Stevenson, Garry Roque and Ian Roberts. She is currently the barn manager at two equestrian facilities in Nova Scotia and trains young reining horses at Pat Kidson's.
Alissa Cue, a current Level 1 Coach with Equine Canada, has 11 years experience in the horse industry. Her main focus is Hunter/Jumper. She has achieved her *B* Level in Pony Club and is still an active member with the Evangeline Pony Club. She has ridden all across Canada and before coming to Nova Scotia, she resided in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She has shown up to Regular Hunters and competes in the 4 foot Jumpers. She has trained with Monica Smith (Level2 Hunter/Jumper) Susan Fraser (Level 3 Dressage) and Alex Beaton (Level 1). She has attended clinics with Chris Irwin, Ian Millar, Beth Underhill, Gina Smith, Brendon Keon, Marni von Shalburg, Cara Whitam (FEI O Judge), Mac McQuaker, Jen Hamilton and Richard Cuthbertson. She has students showing on the Equine Canada circuit in Nova Scotia. She currently owns and runs Rohan Wood Stables and breeds Canadian Warmbloods.
The clinic would be english I think mainly, though they have done some beginner western coaching and Michelle has shown and trained western, mostly training young reiners as mentioned above.
We tried to hold one on PEI but there wasn't enough interest to make it happen, but the format we had set for that was basically a two day clinic. First day (Saturday) being flat, and second day (Sunday) jumping. Oooor you could do first and second as flat only. And there was the option of a third lesson on Friday, so actually that would be the first lesson, but you know what I mean. So you could either enter Saturday and Sunday, or Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
Now, if there's people interested in doing rider level testing, we could do maybe Friday and Saturday as a clinic, and then have testing on Sunday. Since they're EC Level 1 coaches, they can only test rider levels 1 and 2 though...
Buuut, what do you all want? What are you interested in? How much would be too much money wise, for you to pay? Keeping in mind it's a two or three day clinic with two coaches... And when would you like it to be.
