Hello all!
Just an early notice that the annual Humber Valley Horse Show, held in Pynn's Brook, will be held on August 5th (rather than in September when it normally is held), and a clinic will be held the next day at the same venue. Although things are not totally finalised yet, Mike Tucker will be judging the show as well as giving the clinic, and he is carded with numerous associations, including the ApHCC, POA, PtHA, Equine Canada, USA Equestrian and WHAO.
Anyone who is interested can contact me (jessica_boyd90@yahoo.ca) and I should be able to get you the information you need. There is some overnight stabling available at a few local barns, so people from all over the island are welcome to attend!
Thanks!

Well, I'll just post some general info.
The judge (Mike Tucker) is going to stay all day sunday and give a clinic. The cost for an hour lesson is $50 (may seem expensive, but we have to cover his day fee, and keep in mind he's coming in from Ontario!), and we will group people into small groups (people with similar riding levels, training levels on their horses, or even just riding buddies will be grouped together). The lessons will be ATLEAST an hour long, however depending on the number of people we get they could be longer.
I personally think it will be great to get a lesson from an instructor/judge from the mainland, with lots of showing experience... it'll be a whole different ballgame.
The registration for the clinic will be sent out with the show registration forms. If anyone who isn't already on the mailing list wishes to be sent the show info, just pm me or email me with your mailing addres etc.

On that note, the morning show classes are: Showmanship at halter Western Trail Western Pleasure Western Horsemanship There is also a leadline class for children 6 and under
The afternoon games classes are: Barrel Racing Keyhole Pole Bending Flag race
Age divisions are: Peewee - children 11 years and under Junior - youth age 12 to 16 Adult - age 17 and up.
There were talks this year of making it an NEA point show, but for this year it is going to remain an open show... depending on the turnout this year maybe next year it could be ?!

Yeahh, haha I hope Fanjee is ready to do SOMETHING by the time the show rolls around. I'll still take her regardless I guess, even just for the exposure.. Shelly, we really have to try to make it out to the show in Grand-falls as well! Although I think its booked for the same weekend as Ruth's fun show...

That's too bad, but I'd definitely rather make it to the one in Grand-Falls. Willow and I would both get a lot more out of it.
(I'm wracking my brain trying to think of someone to haul us out! Any ideas?)
