Michelle- for long manes you can do a fish net or, I think some people call them, crochet. Basically you just divide the mane into sections, as if you were going to braid, and put an elastic around each section. Then you split the loose end of the section in half, split the section next to it in half and join up the two pieces closest together with an elastic. Its really hard to explain without seeing it
