My, My, so this is where all the barn girls come to gossip, man I've bin missing out
Anyways since there seems to be some confusion about the mock event here are the details.
Sunday Oct 2nd at King's ranch will host Newfoundland's first ever mock event.
A show fee of $40 is requied before Sept 28th or a late fee of $10 will apply.
Stalls are available for a charge of $10 per night, and competators are welcome to come a few days in advanced to let there horse settel in, or just if you want to enjoy a few days of trail riding (there is 400 acers to explore)
If you want a stall be sure to contact Lesely at 691 - 0546, and you better hurry the barn only has 13 stalls, and 5 are already taken.
As for the event it's self it will be broken into 3 phases
Phase A: Dressage Test
Basic 2A, Judged by Beth Marshall
Phase B:
Endurance test
Roads and tracks Speeplechase Roads and tracks Cross country the endurence phase will be judged on time
Phase C:
Show Jumping Scored on time, any refusals or knockdowns will be peanlized with time faults. Jumps will not exceed 2'3
Compeattors are encouraged to participate in all aspects of the event, however if you only wish to do certain compoents ie. you just want to do Dressage, this is permitted.
The minimum age requirement for the horse is 4 yrs, and and competators must be 10 yrs and up
As for prizes, there will be ribbons for each test, with a ribbon for the overall winner of all 3 phases, along with a cash prize.
Thats the main points, if you have any more questions contack Donna Humber at 781 - 2486 or donaldm@nfld.com anyone wishing to fill out entry forms they can be found at any of the major barns ie. Clovelly, Sothern, One rider tack shop, etc...or by contacting Donna.
personally I did some Cross Country while living on the main land, and was really dissapointed that NF didn't have a course. But rejoice, our prayers have been answered. From what I've heard from Donna she wants to make this a yearly event. Hopefully if all goes well she will orgnize a second one. so let's everyone make a huge turnout and start some CXC here on the Rock.
All inf posted above comes directly from the Centaur horse Trial's regstration handout, she also has a copy of the Basic 2A stapled to the back.
Well I hope this will clarify the details for everyone,
Cheers
