DID YOU KNOW?
Clovelly Stables has been part of the community for over 30 years. It has provided equestrian services including trail rides, lessons and boarding.
Today, Clovelly Stables has transformed into a community focused organization that is operated as a not for profit organization called Clovelly Stables Community. Although it still continues to offer boarding, competitions, camps and clinics Clovelly is pleased to be able to open its doors to benefit the community and share this special space.
Youth is an important focus at Clovelly Stables. The creation of a 4H club has allowed Clovelly to reach youth and introduce horses into their lives. 4-H is one of Canada’s longest-running youth organizations for young people between the ages of 5 and 21. 4-H gives youth opportunities to learn new things through a dedicated group of volunteer leaders. Youth learn the skills needed to contribute to making this a better world and many of them go on to become leaders in their communities.
Creating opportunities for people with disabilities is another focus of Clovelly. A strong partnership between Avalon Employment has been created that provides work for people with barriers to employment along with the assistance of a job coach.
Clovelly is home to Future Strides a not for profit organization that provides recreation therapy with the use of horses to persons with disabilities including referrals from the Autism Society of Newfoundland Labrador. Clients are guided through experiences with horses to develop self confidence, esteem and better communication skills.
