This clinic is well worth the money. We held one at Cache Rapids Stable this fall which Kevin attended, Kevin has been trimming and shoeing our horses for years, but he learned so much from Mike and Laura. He didn't realize before the clinic how much he didn't know. We had one horse that would never pick up his right lead when jumping. After he was trimmed AND BALANCED during the clinic, he consistantly starting picking up the right lead when asked. My mare always reared when being trimmed and shoed on front. After Mike showed everyone what to do with a horse like this, my mare relaxed and let everyone trim her feet with no issues. A very worthwhile clinic.

I am sure there is a lot of good information in the clinic but I was asking and not too clearly now I can reread what I hastily wrote ....what was meant by hands on as the barefoot clinics I have attended out of province provided cadaver hooves and horses for trimming. If it is just theory and a demonstration I would not be interested in attending for a cost of 300$.

At the clinic at CRS, you were permitted to bring your own horses, but if you didn't have one or could get them here for the clinic, we used our Cache Rapids horses. It was hands on, and everyone trimmed the horses feet. It was great for us, because we got 10 or 12 of our horses trimmed which was overseen by Mike and Laura. You should check with Laura or Mike to see if they are doing the same thing at this clinic. I would assume they would. There was some theory but alot of hands on.

Good Morning
I would like to thank everyone for their input, it is appreciated.
In regards to the clinic we make every attempt to make sure all participants have a number of horses to work with, hands on. Unfortunately, the numbers for this event were less than we expected even for this time of year. We had a large number of people who wondered if we would hold the clinic in the spring. As a result we have decided to postpone the event until spring when weather conditions will be better and attendance more convenient. We will be announcing the new date in the next few days. We apologize for any inconvenience. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me anytime.
Sincerely,
Mike Harris, CJF 709-637-7136 709-572-0222 virtualmobileoffice@gmail.com
