Well, as you may know, I've been looking for a working student position in the fall. I've been trying to decide between two barns, and I was still undecided just a few days ago. Anyway, to make a long story short, a few hours later after all the indecision I made up my mind and booked a flight up to Ottawa a week later!!! I'm going up for 18 days to a barn called Queenswood. It's a dressage barn, run by Oswaldo Lazzuri and Simone Williams, the head trainer. She's assistant coach of the para olympic dressage team and came in the top 10 in international competition at the 1999 Pan American Games. She also finished the World Cup season ranked as second in Canada and Fourth in North America. They're also very willing to help me get my coaching levels, as she can test for them and all that. Mr. Lazzuri mentioned that to me when we were chatting on the phone about what I would like out of this. Anyways, I'm a bit nervous and I hope I won't look too bad up there! Apparently it's a pretty prestigious place, big iron gates and all, so I hope I'll do ok! Wish me luck! And here's the link if you want to see the website. www.queenswoodstables.com/

Hey, I bought my horse from them. I met Marg, Simone's Mom and she was very nice. Simone is on the Dressage Canada short list. They seemed very down to earth.
A :-)

What an opportunity! From looking at the site it looks like an amazing place. I take it Connor will be going with you? Hopefully this isn't too nosey, but are they give you a discount on board for working there? (you don't have to answer that, or you can pm me your answer) The facilities look beautiful!

Thanks guys! Andrea, I think I did hear about Reba coming from there! haha Katlyn, you got your wish lol! Sabrina, I don't mind you asking that Connor is coming up, but it won't be until the end of the summer, regardless of when I start. His board is actually all paid for, as well as my accomodations. Lessons and training are included as well, and possibly a small salray for food and such. I can PM you more details and an amusing story on this topic if you like, lol!

Sarah, yes I did find that out! haha If that is the case, Ms. Andrews will probably getting lots of hugs from me, lol! Although I'm hoping once I get past the first few weeks the home sickness will go away. I know that's what happened when I went to Bulgaria last summer, so fingers crossed it'll be the same!
So nervous! Less then 36 hours and I'll be there! Thank you so much everyone, these nice comments and support will hopefully give me more confidence up there, lol!
