Pony is on her way to SB, then to DL She loaded amazingly which I was very surprised at considering the hassle we had trailering her to Boswarlos and she hasn't seen a trailer since. She was nervous but walked right up to it, sniffed it for a minute, then walked on with me I'll update how she is when she gets to CRS tonight as I'm going in to see her settle in !

So, the weekend me and pony face were in training sessions during the clinic with Jim and they went quite well ! She just needs to give to the bit more and she should slow down her lope (YAHH ). She also trailered great and made it home safe and sound !

Went for about 30 minutes today just to do a few things after her weekend, nothing too intense as she was such a good girl the weekend ! She was steering amazingly and only fought once to go back but once I made her trot away she realized that I meant business When we got to the field I worked on bending which took a few minutes to get but she did it. She needs more work on her left cause she fights WAY more, ahah. Her stopping is awesome and she's even starting to do it with just my leg command which is a great improvement ! Her backing up is fine and I can do it with just my leg basically, plus she is starting ot catch on to what "walk on" means too. After my ride, Ashley was getting ready to bring them down to pasture so I just waited around and rode her down which she was an absolute gem for. When she was grazing in the field I decided to just go up to her ankd pet her, but she decided that she wanted to run away so I made her go. After that she was perfectly content with me coming up That's it for tonight !

SO, my pony is amazing and very fit to my surprise ! We started off not too well. . .she wouldn't stand, was walking ahead, and simply being a pain in my arse! This was due to the wind, but that's no excuse ! After some discipline, she smartened up and was the polite girl that I expected. She stood for me to get on and we went on our way. She tried to go back so off we went trotting and we were trotting I would say a good 3-5 minutes before she finally calmed down and would just go where I wanted and not fight. We trotted the hills and walked the rest of the way. When we got to the arena she didn't want to stand by the rope so I got off and lead her as close as possible to the rope and after she was fine, let me rub it and shake it near her face and all ! Once we were in the arena she was awesome. We did about 15+ rounds of the arena trotting (figure eights, switching diagonals) then I went straight from trotting into loping which we did about 5-8 rounds of figure eights and just doing laps, then we walked around for a bit. Next, we worked on bending which she was great for the right but the left was a pain. After a few minutes on that side she finally gave in and I went onto trotting and bending which she fought on the right and I stayed with it til she gave in and in a minute or two she was giving for the left side ! Seeing as she was doing so good, I worked on some stuff I needed to practice for level three and she did it amazingly ! She went from a walk to a lope, then from a stop to a lope ! She needs work on her small circles at a lope, but that will come in time. Sorry for the novel, but she was really good today. . .P.S-> after all of that work, she was only lightly damp with sweat. Athlete I got !

Pretty good day. I had to chase her away three times cause she wouldn't stand for me to catch her , but after that she was fine. Stood for being mounted, tacked, hooves done, and for being bridled. She was a LITTLE fussy when leaving the other horses, but after about a minute of trotting she calmed down and just walked on. We did a lot of trotting/loping today. When we got in the arena we did trotting which was great then went into loping and did a bunch of circles and if she was on the wrong lead me fixing that. She got the hang of it by the end! Her steering was amazing and I was loping her around with just one hand. She also gave to the bit immediatly when we started to bend. The only trouble I had with her was that she wasn't doing her trot-walk transistions so we worked on that for awhile til finally she did it and I called it quits for the day. Her lope has come so far and it's more of a smooth, slowish lope. . .and I actually got her trot down to a nice slow JOG todayy

Tough day, she was grumpy. - She fought a little bit when leaving the other ponies, but after trotting for only about 20 feet she let in and just continued on. - once we got down to the arena, she got worked. First we worked on trotting and just working on steering which she did great ! - after we worked on bending which was our tough spot. she fought and fought until she gave in and would give as soon as I would get her to bend. Then she fought again when I we started bending while trotting. . she gave in after LOTS of work - then we worked on the two rein steering Jim showed us at the clinic an she was doing really good -worked on loping next and getting her on the right lead which she really caught on fast too ! - she's starting to just stop with me just using my leg an backing up with just me leg That's it

So, I haven't done anything really in two weeks, then saturday me and katie finally got up and I did some lunging, ground work with her. - she was lunging great, pulled once or twice, but that was it -she was doing trot-walk-whoa like she knew it all her life - she would stop randomly when walking but walked on when asked and I had to keep at her for trotting - she did stopping, backing *she doesn't back in a straight line*, good - then I hopped on her bareback and she was really good. - stopped when asked, walked on most times and she stood perfectly still when I was just chatting to katie ! Today: - had trouble catching her (also had trouble saturday), but she finally gave in - then I lunged her for a good half hour or more just trotting, walking, stopping and she was doing excellent til around the end of the session where she was just fed up and didn't want to do it, but I didn't stop til she did what I asked - I found she pulled quite a bit today, but by the end she was doing really good, with only one or two corrections every so often - she backs, stops, and still turns great ! - we also worked on changing direction with my hand signals and she did it at the end really good ! That's it

Haven't updated in awhile. . . I had to ride her up to the house cause she was left in Boswarlos with no charge on the fence(not by me) and knowing Brandi she would have came right through it, so I walked her a good way( which she did great for) and then rode the rest of the way. She was jumpy for saddling and riding cause it was a new place that she hasn't been quite often. She calmed down a bit, but kept fighting me every so often to turn around and would end up backing up into the road. It got so bad that for my safety, her safety, and everyone who is around me I had to get off and lead her to the house when I was about a 10 minute walk from my house. We got there and I unsaddled her, tied her out and she ate away. Now the barn part. . . she was terrified. It was her first time in the new barn and we ended up having to reinforce the door cause she was going to get through it somehow if left the way it was. She paced for a good few hours off and on, but finally settled in and when she stayed in there the next night she was fine with it. I took her on a trail ride with my best friend (she took her quad) and she fought me a lot but I was on a road that wasn't used very often so I was able to have her back into the road and fight with her til I won. Then we got on the dirt road and she got a workout ! We trotted almost all the way with a bit of walking and loping, she was doing really good ! Another plus was that she never flinched once at the quad, which I figured she would. We need to work on her transitions slowing down, and a whole lot more on her steering, but other than that, she was a gem ! She still does whoa with just my voice and sometimes just my leg. The next day I rode her up to the new field and she was jumpy and put up a fight when she realized we weren't going back to boswarlos but I fought through it and she went on her way. I let her into the field and she ran around for that day looking for other ponies and me, but calmed down and is now happy as a clam to be in there. SORRY FOR THE NOVEL. I'll update in intervals after this ahaha

Haven't been able to ride as it'd be pretty hard to carry all my tack on my bike Anyway, I went up yesterday to check on her and I lunged her for a bit which she did GREAT for and then I just did a review over ground work which was also an A++ ! So, she is being picky and won't eat all the grass so I took her out to the knee-deep grass that's outside of her pasture and she was in heaven ! She munched and munched for a good 15 minutes then I had to go so I put ehr back in and went on my way. I had to go back that same day cause we needed to fill her water buckets and I had the lovely job of cleaning up her poop ! While I was doing that she would come and visit and then walk away, then I left again.

First time riding and actually doing training in like FOREVER ! We did bending first thing (at a walk) and she was awful. Pulled, pulled, and pulled. It took about I'd say a good 10-15 minutes just getting her to do it good on the left side only. Then I went to the right which wasn't even half as bad as the left, but still not great. It took another 10-15 minutes trying to get that better cause 1) she didn't want to do anything I wanted and 2) she was getting fed up, but I didn't care. When I finally got her bending good on both sides right away we worked on steering (two hands) and she was again awful. She didn't pull or anything, it was just I had to pull up all the time when as before she would need a reminder every now and then. Oh well, what should I expect after a few weeks of nothing? When she got better at that I decided I should trot/lope cause she was FILLED with energy. I made it educational though For loping we worked on having her lope on the right lead that I ask for and she did pretty good on that ! She was FULL of energy though and was loping super fast ! ahaha. When we got a few rounds in of loping/trotting I called it quits and headed home.

Yesterday we went up to do her feet and she did pretty good ! She pulled away like 5 times, but after that she stood still, and I was surprised and how great she was for me to position her in a place. I haven't done any "work" for ground or riding cause the weather decides it hates me on the days I can go and the days that are nice, I have other plans !

Yesterday I went up and b/c Brandi hasn't been ridden in FOREVER she's had a lot of pent up energy so I decided on "free lunging" her to get it out. I warmed her up then got her going and she LOVED it ! She would trot around then I get her into a lope and she'd run around happy as could be. When she'd get to her water buckets at a lope she would jump them But they weren't even in her way, they're off to the side ! ahahaha. She worked up quite a little sweat and so I now have a new plan B if she doesn't get ridden everyday
